Sally Field Birthday and Biography

Sally Field grew up in a Hollywood family and started her career on the TV series Gidget. She starred with Burt Reynolds, who she also dated for several years, in the Smokey and the Bandit trilogy. Field's talent as a drama actor became apparent with her role in the film Norma Rae for which she won an Academy Award for best actress. She won the same award in 1984 for Places in the Heart. Feild's acceptance speech for her 1984 award is the now infamous, "You like me, you really like me."
