John Adams Birthday and Biography
Born October 30, 1735
John Adams, born in 1735, was the first Vice President, and the second President, of the United States. Like several presidents that would follow him, Adams graduated from Harvard. Adams became involved with politics when the Stamp Act of 1765 was being discussed among political leaders. Later he became a member of the Continental Congress and nominated George Washington as commander-in-chief. He was elected President in 1795. During his time in office the passage of the Alien and Sedition Acts made him unpopular and he was not re-elected.
